Our Sunday Services are now open and taking place in-person. We’ll be gathering in the room this Sunday.

Below you’ll find all you need to know and what you can expect during our Sunday Services. We can’t wait to meet you! Doors open 30 minutes before our gatherings start so come and get a seat.

Parking & Transport

Driving

We are primarily a city centre church, so parking is in local Winchester car parks. There are 5 car parks that surround our building and church sits on a large one way system so it’s best to pick your car park before you come. We are located just off Junctions 9, 10 and 11 of the M3 and are also accessible via the A34 from Newbury and Oxford.

If driving, parking options include:

  • Middle Brook Street Car Park – 142 spaces
  • Cossack Lane – 36 spaces
  • Friarsgate Multi Storey Car Park  – 72 spaces
  • Upper Brook Street Car Park  – 61 spaces
  • The Brooks Car park – 313 spaces

Winchester council recently introduced Sunday parking charges in the ‘Centre’ Car Parks with an all day flat fee of £2.

For Free Parking and a short walk to church head to one of the ‘Inner’ Car Parks: Chesil Multi Storey and River Park Leisure Centre

At Hope North, parking is free and onsite.

Hope North’s nearest bus stop is Campion Way.

Hope Kids

2-11 Years – 10am Central – 11:15am North

We love our kids! Hope Kids is available every Sunday during our 10am service at Central for ages 2-11. Check-in your kids after worship in the service. Our mission every Sunday is to create an atmosphere where your kids become part of a Holy Spirit filled community, playing together and growing in relationship with God through conversation with him, inspired by scriptural truth.

North Site has children’s provisions and operates a stay-and-play.

Hope Youth

School Years 7-13 – 10am Central – 11:15am North

Youth can check-in after worship in the services. At central Years 7-9 head to groups every week and Years 10-11 meet bi-weekly. At North all school years meet together weekly. We spend time hanging out, getting to know each other and connecting over God’s word.

We have now launched a Youth Service taking place simultaneously to our Sunday Services at 10am. School years 7-13 all join together at Hope Central on the last Sunday of each month. We are deeply committed to seeing a generation of young people knowing Jesus.

Connect Point

At our service, you’ll find our Connect Point. This is the centralised spot where you can get connected to “all things Hope Church.” Our welcome team will be happy to show you around and provide you with information about upcoming events and how you can get connected to our community. They are the friendly faces wearing purple t-shirts! Feel free to stop by the Connect Point or find one of our hosts if you have any questions.

Staying safe

The lifting of Covid restrictions means that this weekend you do not need to book a seat, wear face masks or socially distance and we are delighted we can now sing corporately as part of our worship. However, we recognise some people may be more cautious with their approach to restrictions easing, so we want to ensure that our gatherings are a place where everyone can engage at a comfortable level:

Isolate – If you’re experiencing COVID symptoms or self-isolating please do not come along to an onsite gathering.

Extra space – You can choose to sit in a socially distanced seating section available at 10am Central service upstairs on the balcony. Hope North operates a ventilated service with more spread out seating.

Hand sanitiser – Everyone can use hand sanitiser when they arrive onsite to our service.

Masks – Face coverings are optional at our gatherings. We have noticed some still feel more comfortable wearing them throughout the service at this time.

Hope Online or Online church? An important part of church life is about being together in one place which is why gathering in-person is necessary. When Covid hit and we started Hope online last March we had no idea we’d be still doing it 18 months later. Neither did we realise so many people would connect with us across the UK and around the world. We are really grateful to God that it has been such a blessing and lifeline to so many in what have been challenging days.

However, Hope Online could never replace meeting together as church.

As we continue with our face to face gatherings we don’t want to lose sight of all God has been teaching us about connection and community through the pandemic and as our Hope Online Sunday Services finish. If you live locally and have never been to church before Covid we’d love to invite you to come and meet with us. If you don’t live locally we want to encourage you to find a good local church to connect with and if we can help you with this let us know.

We’re aware that some in the church will be unable to come back to face to face gatherings at the moment because of ongoing health challenges and life issues. Whilst Hope online ended, we will be continuing to produce online material to help people connect with us. We will be regularly releasing a variety of quality content focusing on worship songs, stories and preaching. We also want to continue to help those in our church this next season so we will be recording our Sunday morning preach and sending out the link to the video every week.

Thank you for joining us on this Hope Online journey and we look forward to seeing you in person. We have so much to thank God for over this season.
