Hope Church
Hope Church Winchester is an autonomous local church, but that doesn’t mean it stands alone or aloof from other churches. We are affiliated with the Evangelical Alliance, an organisation representing the UK’s two million evangelical Christians.
In Winchester itself, we work together with other churches to transform our community with the good news of Jesus.
Hope Church Winchester also belongs to the Newfrontiers family of churches. For those unfamiliar with Newfrontiers, let us take a moment to tell you about that link:
Newfrontiers
Hope Church Winchester is part of Newfrontiers – a worldwide family of churches together on a mission. Over 30 years Newfrontiers grew to 800+ churches across the world under the leadership of Terry Virgo.
As Newfrontiers grew, Terry recognised a number of leaders emerging each with a gift to lead, serve and oversee these churches. When Terry stepped back from leading Newfrontiers he released these leaders (now recognised as apostles) to oversee groups of churches. These leaders now work together as interdependent groups called ‘apostolic spheres’ under the Newfrontiers worldwide banner.
Hope Church Winchester is within the apostolic sphere called ‘Commission.’ For more information please visit the Commission website commission-together.org
Commission
Commission is an international family of churches working together to make disciples, reach the nations and transform communities. Led by Guy Miller (based in Bournemouth) and his team, Commission incorporates churches in the UK, India, Spain, Portugal and are developing in other nations.
These churches actively work together and support each other to see the gospel advance through church planting and caring for existing churches. There is a strong emphasis on:
– Raising leaders
– Going to the nations
– Reaching the unreached
– Ministry with the poor
